Below are some frequently asked questions that you might find interesting:

1.  Where did you move from?  Rockford, IL (about one hour northwest of Chicago).

2.  Why are you here?  Because God called us to live by faith and come to help the folks of the Appalachians in Southeastern Kentucky with their homes and other needs.

3.  You mean you do not get a paycheck like most people who work?  No we do not get a scheduled paycheck like most people, but God does provide what we need.

4.  How can you do that?  We continue to look to God for His faithful provision and we keep our eyes fixed on Him and what He is doing and follow His leading.

5.  Now that you are not with Meridzo any longer but are an Associate Ministry, do you receive any financial support that they receive?  No.  Even though we are an Associate Ministry, we are not under the direction of Meridzo Ministries any longer and do not receive any funding from them.  God provides all we need and sometimes that means we have to wait until the very last minute, but He has never been late.

6.  Do you still work with the mission teams that come into Solomon's Porch?  Yes, we still continue to work with the teams who come into Solomon's Porch who want to do home repair in the area and we really appreciate all that they do.  They accomplish much in a short period of time and do a good job.

7.  Do you have children, and if so how old are they?  Yes we have two children.  Our son, Jordan is 16 and our dauther Lindsay who is 14.

8.  This had to be a pretty big adjustment for them, how are they doing?  Both Jordan and Lindsay have adjusted well.  Their first year here they were homeschooled and were busy getting to know and understand what ministry was all about.  This past year they have been at Victory Road Christian Academy and have developed some friendships.  They both like it here and are doing well.

9.  So, what does Heritage Ministries do?  Heritage Ministries has various aspects of ministry.  a) We have a home repair ministry where we help restore the homes of widows, single moms with children, handicapped folks, and people who do not have the means to help themselves.  b) We have a building supplies outlet that helps the folks of the area to be able to get what they need to fix their homes themselves at a discounted rate.  c) We have a carpentry "shop" class called the Toolbox Ministry which teaches anyone who wants to learn the basic skills of carpentry with the basic tools.  They receive a toolbox with the tools they need at the end of the course.   d) We have an S.O.S. (Sharing Our Skills) Local Mission Team being developed so that the local folks can be involved, and e) We have a prayer ministry that is currently being developed.

10.  How can we help?  Here are some ways you can help:  Pray, Volunteer, Support & Share.  Praying is one of the most important ways you can help make a difference for this community.  Please see the Prayer Ministry webpage.  Volunteering your time is another way you can help.  Just contact us and we will supply you with the information about the various projects we have to be done that might fit your mission team.  Supporting with donations and gifts is critical to our ministry.  You can help someone repair their home with your donations by enabling us to purchase the necessary materials, tools and supplies needed.  Sharing what God is doing through our ministry is vital.  We would ask you to share our website with all of you family, friends and your church so that they too can capture what God is doing here in the Appalachians.
