S.O.S.
(Sharing Our  Skills)
A Local Mission Team

Welcome to our web page for the S.O.S. Mission Team.

God has over the past several months revealed that there is a need for a local mission team.  In order to be more effective in helping the folks in this area with getting their homes repaired quicker, it has become necessary to increase the number of volunteers.  One way of doing this is by seeking help from the local churches.  Over the next several weeks and months, Jeff and I will be sharing with churches from the area about the S.O.S. Ministry.  We'll be asking the members of their congregations to contact us if they would be interested in being a volunteer in the S.O.S. Team.  Once they have signed up, they will be occasionally assigned a project with other team members and maybe even work with someone from an out-of-state mission team.

There's an important aspect to this ministry and that is the local churches and their members will be serving the folks of this community through acts of service using their gifts and skills that God has blessed them with and also have the opportunity to share the love of Jesus with them.  Even if an out-of-town mission team has to leave, the S.O.S. Team will be able to remain on the project until completed, continuing to minister to that family.

Please pray that God will continue to lead, direct, and provide all that is needed to develop the S.O.S. Team.  Pray for the churches and their congregations to be receptive to this idea and for them to respond to God's calling.  Pray for Jeff and I as we seek God's will and His words to speak as we share what we believe is His heart, not only for the team members but also for the folks of the community who need help.
God has been busy.  He has heard the prayers of the saints and has brought to us five local volunteers and we haven't even been to a church yet.  These folks have come to us and offered to help with the ministry in any way that they could, God at work.  We praise Him for this and give Him all the glory!   God continually shows us that as long as we keep seeking after Him, He will take care of Him ministry.

Thank you for your prayers, keep praying, and God bless.
